Many thanks to Chris Neary and all the folks at Neary Landscaping for the beautiful flowers and shrubs they planted along the side of the church and around the patio. Often overlooked, but equally beautiful is the shrine to our Blessed Mother on the west side of the church. When you have a moment, take a walk over to look at the outdoor Stations of the Cross, on the wall of the church, and the statue of Mary in the grotto.
Help us shelter & support Berkshire’s most vulnerable residents:
Homelessness is a growing issue in Berkshire County, in particular a lack of housing for women and children. Many homeless women choose to “couch-hop” at enormous personal risk. Teen-age girls, many from broken homes, choose to be homeless rather than stay in unsafe home environments. They live in cars or with friends.
Berkshire Co-Act, Community Organizing for Action, is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3), located within the First Methodist Church, 55 Fenn Street in Pittsfield. Co-Act’s current initiative involves women and children’s transitional housing, a first step out of homelessness.
A fundraising effort is scheduled for June 21st at the First Methodist Church, 55 Fenn St., from 5-7pm. Chicken Parmesan & Pasta Dinner, Beverages, Desserts, and Entertainment.
Only $10/pp. Reservations and information at 413-442-8592.
Donations graciously accepted.
Please join us at 12:00noon for our Eucharistic Procession & Benediction. This special celebration on the Feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, is to pray for continued vocations to the priesthood, religious life (religious sisters and brothers) and the permanent deaconate. It is upon these vocations that our Church exists. Equally important to the life of the Church is the vocation to married life and family life, for which we will also pray.
Join us please at 12 o’clock. We will leave from inside the church and process up Albro St. and back down State St. to the patio. There will be Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament, and following the reposition, there will be light refreshments served on the patio.
